Millennials Changing America Is Back!

The project started in the summer of 2008 as a wholly anecdotal look at how members of the Millennial Generation get behind change, do good, and view themselves in the context of their generation and society as a whole. The project was inspired by all of the news and conference chatter I was reading and hearing that pointed at these young people in an attempt to make both positive and negative assessments. The undertaking was strongly motivated and encouraged by Morley Winograd and Mike Hais, authors of Millennial Makeover, and fabulous supporters and and advocates for the Millennial Generation, with who I am very excited to launch this revival.
When I returned from the trip, I found myself with hundreds of Millennial contacts, sitting on the Advisory Board of OrganicNation.tv (another awesome traveling documentary project) and teaching media literacy and Internet activism classes for high school and college students. Unfortunately, Millennials Changing America remained somewhat unfinished. Mike, Morley and I, while working together on a related project, thought that rather than letting the initiative sit unfinished, it would be great to bring our mutual, ongoing projects together and keep the conversation going that the Millennials Changing America Tour helped to start.
We will be using the site to highlight some of the interesting folks and projects that we come across, pick the brains of people we're inspired by, and maintain an on-going dialogue about what it means to be a Millennial today. So much of what is written about the generation is referential, and is not consciously articulated by us, its own representatives. Here, we attempt to provide the grounds for doing so, and stimulate an open-ended discourse. Expect documentation in all of its dynamic digital formats.
